Napoli Basketball will make its European debut tomorrow when it faces French side Cosea JL Bourg-en-Bresse in the opening game of Group C of the EuroCup. The game will be played at the ALCOTT Arena, with tip-off scheduled for 8:00 PM.
Following an impressive victory in Rome in the opening round of the Serie A season, Coach Jasmin Repesa’s team is preparing for its first home game of the season against the strong French side, the reigning champions of the competition. Coached by Fauthoux, Bourg-en-Bresse lost its opening Pro A game in overtime against Saint-Quentin, with the final score being 106-103.
Napoli Basketball President Matt Rizzetta said:
“On the eve of a historic event such as the return of European basketball to Naples, I want to greet and thank all the fans, institutions and sponsors who are supporting the club in this fascinating adventure, showing great confidence in us. After almost twenty years, the city can finally breathe the atmosphere of European basketball again, and the commitment our club has undertaken, also with a view to the future, is aimed at the constant growth of Napoli Basketball, with the goal of making the team and the organization increasingly prominent protagonists in Italy and on the continental stage.
Naples has now become a city sought after by people from all over the world for its wonderful natural beauty, its cultural and social contributions, its unparalleled hospitality, and above all the millions of Napoli fans who support their team like no other fanbase. The resounding success of the America’s Cup and Naples being named European Capital of Sport have provided further proof of this.
Therefore, I would like to welcome more and more fans to support the team, which, under the wise and experienced guidance of Coach Repesa, has already shown important signs of its strength, quality and depth. Let’s continue to enjoy this wonderful and spectacular project together. Forza Napoli Basketball.”
