Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scores 38 the day after winning MVP. Thunder dominate again and take control of the West finals

One day after being officially crowned NBA MVP, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander delivered a performance worthy of the honor, scoring 38 points to lead the Oklahoma City Thunder past the Minnesota Timberwolves 118-103 in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals.

SGA hit 12 of 21 from the field and 13 of 15 from the line, adding 8 assists and 3 steals, helping OKC build a 2-0 lead in the series. “I was a little too juiced up at the start,” he said. “But I’m happy we won, now I can really enjoy it.”

Jalen Williams contributed with 26 points and 10 rebounds, while Chet Holmgren added 22 points. The Thunder’s defense, led by All-Defensive selections Lu Dort and Williams, held Minnesota to just 41.4% shooting. The Thunder have now outscored the Wolves by a combined 41 points over the first two games.

Despite Anthony Edwards scoring 32 points, the Wolves couldn’t match OKC’s energy. Game 3 shifts to Minneapolis on Saturday.
