Moses Wright: Many players would stay at Zalgiris longer if there were more sunshine in the winter

On leaving Kaunas

“I thought long and hard about whether I’d decided too soon, whether I should have stayed a little longer. There wasn’t anything wrong with the situation; I just did what I thought was best for my family. I believe that if Zalgiris could somehow make the sun shine a little more in Kaunas during the winter, many more players would stay there.”

On the season with Olimpia Milano

“I’d like to make the EuroLeague playoffs with Olimpia because, ever since I’ve been in Europe, I’ve never missed them, and I don’t intend to start now. Then we’ll build on that result.”

On his role

“As a player, I always say I consider myself a guard—which sounds kind of funny coming from a 2.07 center—but I really do see myself as a threat, especially from the shooting range, in pick-and-pop situations. That’s not what you traditionally look for in a center, but that’s who I am. I’m not worried about being a ‘small’ big man; I like to compete against everyone, always giving it my all. I’m different from Josh Nebo, who played for Olimpia before me—a great player but a more traditional center because he prefers to play under the basket.”
