French champions AS Monaco have been denied entry to both the Betclic Elite and Elite 2 for the 2026-27 season after the French National Management Control Department (DNCCG) ruled that the club failed to provide sufficient financial guarantees and a viable ownership plan.
According to Eurohoops, Monaco is expected to appeal the decision before the French Basketball Federation, with a final ruling anticipated on July 20.
The club is also facing a major sporting rebuild, as most of its championship-winning roster has already departed, including Mike James, Elie Okobo, Alpha Diallo and Matthew Strazel, leaving its future surrounded by uncertainty.
