Raznatovic: I really can't tell who will be the new faces of the Euroleague in three or four years

Misko Raznatovic, a leading European basketball agent with Beobasket, recently granted a long and interesting interview to Relevo.

Among the topics covered were the future of Euroleague and European basketball and his selection as the best European player in history.

“I am in love with European basketball. It’s the business I’m in, I love the Euroleague, but I think European basketball doesn’t have a bright future.

The NBA will also get bigger and bigger economically, the number of Two-Way contracts is increasing, and Europe will have fewer and fewer quality players from the United States.
In addition, European teams are not giving opportunities to young players and the leagues are aging. We have no new talent because the best young players go to the NBA. Also, with the NIL money, universities will be able to pick the best talent before they go to the NBA.

I really can’t tell who will be the new faces of the Euroleague in three or four years. I am concerned about basketball in Europe. There is no doubt that the competition is exciting, but the Euroleague lacks real stars like it used to have: Spanoulis, Diamantidis, Navarro… I would love to be wrong, but on these things I have never been….

On the best European player in history.

“Drazen Petrovic has been my idol since childhood and it is thanks to him that I used the number 4 and that is why this number is part of my e-mail address and my name on social media. But Nikola Jokic is a three-time NBA MVP, only four players in basketball history have achieved better results than him. So it is not hard to know who I consider the best European player ever, although I admit it is difficult to compare different eras. Will I be able to find the new Nikola Jokic? I don’t think so, he is a unique player. But now I have dozens of young talents who can at least dream of following the path he laid out.”
