Mirotic: ‘Even at my age, I’m still learning from coach Messina. EuroLeague MVP? Mike James

Nikola Mirotic talked about his choice to sign with Olimpia Milano and about the next EuroLeague MVP.

Nikola Mirotic’s move to Olimpia Milano last off-season was a major acquisition, but despite his arrival, the team is in serious danger of failing to even qualify for the EuroLeague play-in. These are the words of the Montenegrin superstar as quoted by Basketnews after EA7 Emporio Armani Milano’s loss to Zalgiris Kaunas.

Mirotic on the decision to sign with Olimpia Milano: “Regrets? Absolutely not. I’m not the kind of person who has regrets. I always try to be positive and make the best of what life has to offer. I’m very happy to have this job, to be in a team like mine and that God has given me the opportunity to play the game I love, so no regrets.

On the similarities between Barcelona and Milan: “Both are great organisations. Both have great coaching staffs. In Barcelona I had Sarunas Jasikevicius, here I have Ettore Messina, one of the best in the EuroLeague. So, even with my age, I keep learning, keep improving every season. So I can say many, many positive things about both organisations.

On the EuroLeague MVP: “Mike James, for sure”.
