Bucks coach Doc Rivers calls the injury “good news” as team takes cautious approach

Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo will miss one to two weeks after suffering a low-grade left groin strain, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Tuesday. The injury occurred during Monday’s loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Coach Doc Rivers said it was “good news” since the strain isn’t serious, though Antetokounmpo will still need rest. The Greek forward has been in MVP form, averaging 32.6 points, 11.3 rebounds, and 7.1 assists through 12 games while ranking second in usage rate across the league.

Without him, Milwaukee dropped its second straight game, falling to 8-7. The team hopes to have Giannis back before the end of November, depending on his recovery.
