Olimpia Milano closed out its EuroLeague season in style with a commanding 111-89 win over Baskonia at the Unipol Forum, in a matchup between two teams already eliminated from playoff contention.
Tip-off was at 20:30 and coach Ettore Messina surprised with his selection of the twelve. The hosts set the tone early thanks to Nico Mannion and an explosive start from Ousmane Diop and Zach LeDay. The reigning Italian champions surged ahead 13-7 and never looked back, with Mirotic, LeDay and Brooks leading a 10-0 run that ended the first quarter at 31-18, with Baskonia punished for poor defense and turnovers.
Milano’s offensive momentum rolled into the second period, with LeDay and Mannion continuing their hot streak and Ricci and Diop adding easy buckets inside. The margin ballooned to +31 after a Mirotic triple, and the half ended with a crushing 62-35 advantage for EA7 — shooting 11-for-16 from three and committing zero turnovers.
The second half began with Baskonia showing signs of life behind Howard and Hall, but LeDay responded with a 3-point play and an assist to Mirotic, keeping the game out of reach. The third quarter ended 82-61, with Milano still firmly in control.
Milano continued to dazzle offensively in the fourth, with Mirotic posting a 40 efficiency rating in just 24 minutes, Brooks hitting deep shots, and LeDay capping off a career night with 32 points. A standing ovation welcomed Mirotic and LeDay to the bench, while youngster Lonati made his EuroLeague debut, dishing an assist to Caruso. Brooks then electrified the crowd with a late dunk, sealing a dominant 17th win of the season for EA7.
