Mike James will play for Barcelona next season, with the Blaugrana reportedly closing a deal for the EuroLeague’s all-time leading scorer.

According to Mundo Deportivo, James has signed the contract despite knowing that Xavi Pascual’s continuity was not guaranteed. The Catalan coach is expected to join Dubai Basketball, but the deal for the Monaco guard remains completed.

Barcelona had previously explored Sylvain Francisco and Jean Montero, but market difficulties pushed the club toward James, who already worked with Pascual at Panathinaikos and remains a high-level EuroLeague player.

Last season with Monaco, James averaged 16.4 points, 6.5 assists and 19.1 PIR. After Moses Wright, Josh Nebo and Olivier Nkamhoua, Barça adds another major name to its new project.
