That leaves James eligible to sign a new deal with AS Monaco or test the market in summer 2026. The move reshapes the upcoming EuroLeague free-agency landscape, with other notable names expected to be available such as Shavon Shields, Daniel Theis, and Josh Nebo.
Even with his age-36 season approaching next offseason, James is producing at an elite level: 16.6 points and a career-high 6.4 assists, with 18.3 PIR in 30 minutes. Since 2021-22 he has appeared in 180 of Monaco’s 183 EuroLeague games and has led the club to four straight playoff runs, including two Final Fours and last season’s run to the Final.
