Mike James will once again be absent for AS Monaco as the team opens its LNB Pro A semifinal series against Nanterre 92. The club announced that the guard will miss Game 1, extending his ongoing playoff boycott.
James had already missed recent postseason games, including Game 2 of the quarterfinal series against JL Bourg, after previously serving a three-game suspension earlier in the playoffs. According to BasketNews, his future participation will depend on direct discussions with club president Alekszej Fedoricsev.
The boycott is reportedly not connected to public funding issues or internal relationships within the organization. Monaco will have to manage another key absence, while Daniel Theis and Alpha Diallo could return later in the series. Juhann Begarin is back from suspension and will add depth on the wing.
