Miami Heat star Bam Adebayo left Monday’s preseason game with a bruised knee, cutting short what had been a promising offensive performance. The injury isn’t considered serious, but the team may rest him until the October 22 opener in Orlando.
With Tyler Herro still sidelined, Miami has little reason to risk another key player. Head coach Erik Spoelstra expects Adebayo to regain rhythm quickly, avoiding the slow start he had last season.
Adebayo remains crucial for the Heat’s balance, especially as they struggle from three-point range in an 0-5 preseason. His mid-range touch and playmaking will be vital once the games start to count.
Erik Spoelstra said postgame tonight in Atlanta that Bam Adebayo (knee contusion) not returning to the game was precautionary, and the Heat are returning home with every expectation that he’s fine.
