Metropolitans 92 have officially joined the race for a future NBA Europe franchise, creating a two-track Paris scenario alongside Paris Saint-Germain. According to reports from Eurohoops and L’Equipe, the French club is moving forward with its own separate bid backed by investors from EuroStep Ventures.
Among the notable backers is Ja Morant, who is involved through his investment company Catch12. Metropolitans president Luc Dayan told L’Equipe that the group believes it has the financial strength needed to support an ambitious project ahead of the league’s projected 2027 launch.
The broader landscape is still shifting, however. Additional reporting suggests that the NBA and EuroLeague are expected to resume discussions soon over a potential joint project, a development that could significantly reshape the structure and scale of top-level European basketball.
