Pippen Jr. underwent surgery on his right big toe; Aldama had a procedure and injection for right knee discomfort

The Memphis Grizzlies announced Scotty Pippen Jr. and Santi Aldama will miss the rest of the season after both underwent surgery Tuesday. The team said the procedures were successful and both players are expected to be ready for next season.

Pippen Jr. had an operation on his right big toe. He had a similar procedure in October and didn’t debut until last month; in 10 games he averaged 11.4 points.

Aldama had a procedure and injection to address discomfort in his right knee. The forward was averaging 14.0 points and 6.7 rebounds this season.

Memphis is 23-44, on an eight-game losing streak, and entered Tuesday night nine games back in the race for the final Western Conference play-in spot. Ja Morant has played only 20 games this season and has missed the last 25 with a left elbow injury.
