Maxima Roma, Vernon Carey Jr reportedly nearing contract termination

The American center could leave the Rome-based club only a few weeks into preseason preparations

Vernon Carey Jr may already be on his way out of Maxima Roma. According to Giuseppe Malaguti, as reported by Backdoor Podcast, the club and the player are considering a mutual contract termination.

The 2001-born center, who previously played in the NBA for Charlotte and Washington, was expected to be one of the leading additions to Maxima Roma’s new project.

A separation would force the club to quickly return to the market for another big man. Maxima Roma has not yet issued an official announcement regarding Carey’s future.
