The Dallas Mavericks are considering appointing Dennis Lindsey, former advisor to the franchise and now executive of the Detroit Pistons, as a possible replacement for Nico Harrison, who is now close to being dismissed.
According to Marc Stein, the decision will be preceded by a period with an interim management structure. The relationship between Harrison and owner Patrick Dumont has reportedly “completely deteriorated” after months of tension over the handling of Anthony Davis and, above all, the trade of Luka Doncic to the Lakers, which was later described as “a mistake.”
The Mavericks, 3-8 on the season, are struggling to find consistency despite strong individual performances from Davis, Cooper Flagg, and D’Angelo Russell. Lindsey, architect of years of success in Utah, is now the leading candidate to lead the new management phase in Dallas.
