Anthony Davis will not undergo surgery on his left hand, with Dallas projecting roughly six weeks for recovery, though it could extend longer

The Dallas Mavericks announced Anthony Davis won’t need surgery on his injured left hand after meeting with his physician.
The team said he is expected to “heal from the injury” in approximately six weeks, with sources noting it still could stretch to eight or more.

The report adds Davis had previously been expected to require surgery for ligament damage and miss several months.
He suffered the injury late in a road loss to Utah while defending Lauri Markkanen, finishing that game with 21 points and 11 rebounds.

ESPN also notes Dallas has renewed trade talks involving Davis with multiple interested teams as the Feb. 5 trade deadline nears.
This season, Davis is averaging 20.4 points, 11.1 rebounds and 1.7 blocks, while Dallas is 10-10 with him and 5-15 without him.
