Matt Morgan: “Spanoulis tried to get me a few years ago at another team”

Matt Morgan has arrived in Thessaloniki to begin preseason with Aris. In his first comments, the new signing spoke about the welcome from the fans, the team’s ambitions and his relationship with Vassilis Spanoulis, who had previously tried to sign him.

“My first impressions are about the team’s fans; they are incredible. They have already sent me a lot of photos. The city is amazing. Obviously, our team has big goals and ambitions. I’m happy to be here and I can’t wait to get started,” Morgan said.

On his relationship with Spanoulis: “I spoke with coach Spanoulis before I decided to come here. We have a good relationship, he tried to get me a few years ago at another team. I think the timing is right for both of us to work together. I can’t wait to learn a lot from him and win for him.”
