Mason Plumlee signs a one-year, $3.6M deal with the Charlotte Hornets. The veteran center adds depth after Mark Williams’ trade

Mason Plumlee has agreed to a one-year, $3.6 million deal with the Charlotte Hornets, sources told ESPN. The 35-year-old center returns to Charlotte, providing frontcourt depth after the team traded Mark Williams to the Suns on draft night.

Last season, Plumlee joined Phoenix to address their frontcourt issues, starting 21 games while the Suns rotated at center. He averaged 4.6 points and 8 rebounds per game before being replaced by Nick Richards.

Plumlee, a 13-year NBA veteran, previously played with the Hornets during the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons. His experience and rebounding will help strengthen Charlotte’s paint presence for the upcoming season.
