Marko Guduric: “Crvena Zvezda? There were contacts, there was a desire, but it didn’t happen”

Marko Guduric has not closed the door on a potential return to Crvena Zvezda in the future. The Olimpia Milano player, currently with Serbia during the FIBA window, discussed the topic on the 6.75 Range podcast, as reported by Telesport.

Guduric’s name was linked with Crvena Zvezda last summer. It was a real possibility, at least in terms of intentions, but the move never materialized. The player confirmed this clearly.

“Yes, they called me, that’s all. I’m joking. Yes, there was talk about it last year. I’ve already spoken about it. There were discussions and contacts, and things were moving in a fairly good direction. There was a desire, but it didn’t happen. Then there were other things why it didn’t happen, but it’s known that I talked about it.”

Guduric has never hidden his connection with Crvena Zvezda, the club where he developed and began his senior-level career before moving on to Fenerbahce and Olimpia Milano. The desire to return, at least on an emotional level, remains.

“There is this thing inside me, honestly. I’ve said it and I’m telling the truth, I have nothing to hide. There is something that has remained. Somehow, I feel it, but if it happens, we’ll see.”

He also reflected on his physical condition and the right moment for a potential return:

“It’s God’s will and it will happen the way it is supposed to happen. I’m just trying to stay healthy. We were talking earlier about how full of injuries everyone is, and the question is how long each person will be able to play.”

Guduric, however, also made his position clear:

“I wouldn’t like to arrive at a point when it’s no longer the same. Just to avoid dragging things out.”

His words are significant, but they need to be considered in context. Guduric is currently an Olimpia Milano player and is preparing for the new season with the Italian club after his experience with the Serbian national team. The Crvena Zvezda topic remains tied to his personal history, his connection with the club and a future that, by his own admission, remains completely open.
