Marko Arapovic lashes out at KK Split: “They showed no shame, extremely unprofessional”

Croatian forward has been cut by ABA Liga side after being signed this offseason.

After KK Split decided to cut the contract with Marko Arapovic, Croatian forward has decided to speak out and to give his version of the facts. His words, per bhbasket.ba.

“I am just embarrassed. What they were trying to do was extremely unprofessional. I wanted to be fair to them, but they were extremely unfair. After the contract was terminated, they called me to sign a new version of the contract, they begged me to come back. I trained with the team, coach Skelin was pleased. There were some reversals related to the contract on Thursday night. I booked a plane ticket, went to Split and picked up my things. I have a confirmation from the world’s best doctors that everything is fine. The information came to me that they had called a lot of doctors, so probably some charlatan said something was wrong. I have not experienced this anywhere. I talked to my father and manager after all. We were so sorry we laughed. I really appreciate Coach Skelin, he begged me to stay, but he was obviously some higher power. My only goal was to play the maximum number of minutes. I turned down five times the offers, I wanted to prove to people that I was healthy. Unfortunately, I forgot that it was Croatia. What they have done has nothing to do with professionalism, with humanity. They showed no shame. I wanted to be a gentleman, but I can’t let them tarnish my name”, he said.
