Mitchell had originally decided to transfer to Kentucky, but his move was complicated by a potential legal battle with the SEC, which opposed intraconference transfers made outside the designated transfer window.
Mitchell has now opted to return to Missouri and continue his college career with the Tigers.

The decision comes after Mitchell played for the Denver Nuggets in the NBA Summer League. He also turned down an Exhibit 10 contract from Denver in order to return to college basketball.
Mark Mitchell’s 2025-26 season
Mitchell averaged 18.3 points and 5.2 rebounds per game last season, establishing himself as one of the key players in college basketball.
He will now use his additional year of eligibility to return to Missouri for his fifth NCAA season.
