Mark Hughes will once again wear the burgundy jersey after agreeing to return to iLERNA Lleida for the next two seasons. Born in Youngstown, Ohio, the guard joins the club as a European player thanks to his dual American and Spanish citizenship.
Hughes previously played for Lleida during the 2021-22 season, helping the team reach the Final Four for promotion to the ACB in Girona. He appeared in every game that year, playing 31 regular-season contests and another six during the promotion phase.
After leaving Lleida, Hughes went on to play for Movistar Estudiantes in 2022-23, Hamburg Towers in 2023-24 and Coosur Real Betis in 2024-25. He reached the playoffs with those teams and earned promotion with Betis, while also gaining experience in European competition during his spell in Germany.
Hughes spent the 2025-26 campaign with Bàsquet Girona, appearing in 34 regular-season games. He averaged 8.8 points and 2.7 rebounds in 19 minutes per game, shooting 39.4% from three-point range and posting an average efficiency rating of 8.5.
His best performance of the season came against Casademont Zaragoza, when he finished with 24 points, 5 rebounds and a 27 efficiency rating.
