Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault reflected with pride and emotion after clinching the 2025 NBA Championship with a Game 7 win over the Indiana Pacers. The Thunder triumphed 103-91, completing a remarkable journey.

“I’m just so happy for the guys. This is a historic team. I wanted it so bad for them,” Daigneault said, crediting the team’s professionalism and competitiveness for the title. On Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, he added: “He’s a once-in-a-lifetime player. There’s nothing he can’t do on a basketball court.”

He expressed deep appreciation for the organization: “Mr. Bennett’s been here from the start, Sam Presti’s been here from the start… they’ve built a first-class organization. I’m humbled to be part of it.”

Addressing the personal significance of the win: “Everyone says this team’s hard to coach… that’s the ultimate pressure. I feel like I was able to do it for them. They deserved this.”

Daigneault praised the Finals as a whole: “Two small-market teams, both chasing their first title—it was great for the league.” He closed with a reflection on competition: “You can talk about it all you want, but it comes down to performance. And these guys perform like competitive monsters.”
