Mark Cuban has put forward a proposal that could spark discussion about the future of the NBA and its game format.
The former Dallas Mavericks owner said: “If the league went from 48 minutes down to 40, it would change the NBA for the better.”
A shorter format would bring the NBA closer to FIBA rules and, according to Cuban’s view, could make the game more intense, sustainable and better suited to the modern audience.
The 38-year-old veteran has drawn interest from the Utah Jazz but would prefer to sign with a team capable of competing for the NBA championship
