Real Madrid forward Mario Hezonja has been named the 2025/26 ACB MVP after receiving the highest number of votes from players and media members, while also finishing second in the voting conducted by coaches and fans.
Hezonja caps off a historic regular season, likely the finest campaign of his career, leading Real Madrid to the top spot in the league standings.
The Croatian star accumulated 103.5 points in the overall voting, comfortably ahead of Jean Montero of Valencia Basket (74.5 points) and David DeJulius of UCAM Murcia (73.3 points).
After earning his first Liga Endesa First Team selection in 2024/25, Hezonja was once again named the league’s best forward and claimed the MVP award for the first time in his career.
His season was filled with record-breaking performances. Having been named ACB Player of the Round only twice in his previous seasons in Spain, Hezonja earned the honor three times this year alone. His most memorable outing came in Round 29 against UCAM Murcia, when he exploded for 40 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists, and a performance index rating of 53 in fewer than 30 minutes, becoming the first player in twenty years to surpass the 50-PIR mark in a single game.
Hezonja finished the season with an average PIR of 18.8, the highest figure recorded by an ACB MVP over the past four years. He also averaged 17.5 points per game, ranking third in the league behind DeJulius (17.8) and Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot (18.7).
Among his other notable statistics, Hezonja shot 36.6% from three-point range (2.1 made threes per game), 55.6% on two-point attempts, and an outstanding 89.5% from the free-throw line, further establishing himself as one of the most complete and impactful players in the Liga Endesa.
