ASVEL are making progress on one of their next roster additions, with Marc-Owen Fodzo Dada emerging as a key target for the Villeurbanne club.
The 19-year-old guard, who stands at 1.90m, currently plays for SLUC Nancy and had initially planned to continue his development in the NCAA.
However, his move to the United States fell through after he failed to obtain the necessary eligibility to play in the NCAA, putting him back on the French market.
Talks are advanced, but buyout remains an issue
According to Le Progrès, Fodzo Dada is expected to be ASVEL’s next signing. Information from BeBasket also indicates that negotiations between the parties are progressing well.
There is still one important issue to resolve, however: the buyout that ASVEL will have to pay to Nancy, as Fodzo Dada remains under contract with the SLUC.
His potential arrival would also address a specific need in Tony Parker’s roster construction.
Following Mbaye Ndiaye’s move to Olympiacos, ASVEL currently have only three locally trained players (JFL) and still need to strengthen their perimeter rotation.
