Manuchar Markoishvili: If this is a last dance, let it be the best one

After the game, coach Manuchar Markoishvili praised his team’s resilience and already looked ahead to the challenges still to come.

In the comments reported by Eurohoops, Markoishvili highlighted the value of Monaco’s journey, describing it as a difficult path that the team kept facing with belief and dedication. The coach especially pointed to the defensive effort against Barcelona and to his team’s ability to stay calm in the most delicate moments of the game.

“I want to start by congratulating our team, our fans and the organization, this is a great achievement,” Markoishvili said. He then added: “This road looked very difficult, even impossible, but with dedication the guys kept believing and fighting”. On the win against Barcelona, he explained: “I’m really proud of my team, they played high-level defense, allowing only 70 points. We made some mistakes, but we never panicked”. He also said: “In the end we made big shots and we won”.

Looking ahead to the upcoming series against Olympiacos, Markoishvili kept the bar high: “This is the playoffs. We have played Olympiacos almost every year, we know how good they are, they have a strong roster, we expect nothing easy and we are ready for a big series”. Finally, when asked whether this could be the last dance for this group, he answered with a line that stood out: “If this is a last dance, let it be the best one. That is all I am hoping for, and that is what we will work for”.
