Malik Beasley Drawing Interest from Multiple Teams

Malik Beasley is one of the most talked-about free agents on the NBA market.

Just last week, news broke that Beasley was cleared from a federal investigation into sports betting, a situation that had initially scared off several teams early in free agency.

According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Detroit Pistons and Minnesota Timberwolves are the latest franchises to have reached out to the former Florida State guard, while the New York Knicks and Cleveland Cavaliers had also previously shown interest.

The situation in Cleveland could change following Max Strus’ injury, as the sharpshooter is expected to miss 3-4 months after undergoing surgery on his left foot.

The Pistons currently have the flexibility to offer Beasley a deal worth up to $7.2 million for next season. Before the betting investigation, an extension with Detroit seemed almost certain, but the team eventually shifted directions, as shown by the arrivals of Duncan Robinson and Caris LeVert.

Last season, Beasley averaged 16.3 points per game for Detroit, establishing himself as one of the league’s most reliable high-volume three-point shooters.
