Maccabi Tel Aviv defeated Aris 92-87 in the opening game of the Neophytos Chandriotis tournament in Nicosia. The Israeli side built a lead of up to 15 points and entered halftime ahead 50-37.
Vassilis Spanoulis’ team completed a major comeback, moving in front twice and tying the game at 82-82 in the 38th minute. Maccabi responded by executing better in the decisive possessions.
Bonzie Colson led the winners with 23 points, while Oshae Brissett added 19. Yam Madar and Keaton Wallace recorded six assists apiece, with T.J. Leaf also making his return after being sidelined since February.
