Luka Doncic on Olimpia Milano’s “no” to Nebo and Cancar: “It should be the players’ decision”

Luka Doncic spoke about Olimpia Milano’s refusal to allow Josh Nebo and Vlatko Cancar to join the Slovenian national team for EuroBasket 2025. These were the words of the Los Angeles Lakers star to Slovenian media.

Doncic’s words: “I don’t blame them at all. From what I understand, it was the club that held them back. It’s funny that a club like the Lakers allows me to play, but a club like Olimpia Milano does not. I’d rather not get involved in this matter, but I think the decision should ultimately be up to the player. That’s just my opinion, but in reality, those two aren’t at fault.”

On his relationship with the Lakers: “I have no restrictions. The club gives me full freedom and supports me at all times.”
