Luka Doncic was the star of Slovenia’s victory over Italbasket at Eurobasket 2025 with 42 points. Here are his words in the mixed zone.
On the game: “It was a very tough, physical game. We knew Italy had a lot of weapons, but we held out. I always compliment the guys. They are playing very well. Here, we win or lose together. There are no individuals.
On a possible injury: “I need therapy, but everything will be fine.”
On Italy’s defense: “They started with individual defense on me. I scored a few points, and then they started double-teaming me, so… We’ve believed in ourselves since the start of the European Championships. Now we’re moving forward and we believe in ourselves. We have a difficult game against Germany ahead of us. We have to believe in ourselves.”
On what makes Slovenia special: “Everyone plays together and we get along well. The chemistry is at the highest level. It’s normal, sometimes we argue, but that’s part of the sport. On the court, we just want to help each other. So, once again, hats off to the guys. Really, hats off.”
