Luka Dončić, Anamaria Goltes’ child support petition dismissed

Anamaria Goltes’ child support petition against Luka Dončić was formally dismissed Friday during a hearing in Los Angeles County.

Attorneys for both sides appeared remotely. Dončić’s attorney, Laura Wasser, immediately questioned the need for the case, telling Judge Melissa C. Lyons that she believed the petition should never have been filed in the first place.

Wasser then asked Goltes’ attorney, Evan C. Itzkowitz, to confirm that he was seeking dismissal of the entire case. Itzkowitz acknowledged that he was, explaining that an earlier request filed on August 3 had been rejected because of an issue involving Dončić’s signature, which he argued was not actually required.

The case could be filed again

Judge Lyons granted the request for dismissal without prejudice, meaning Goltes retains the right to bring the case again at a later date.

The legal dispute began on March 9, when Goltes formally filed for child support from Dončić. The filing also publicly confirmed the separation between the Lakers star and the Slovenian model and influencer.

Dončić’s legal challenge

Dončić subsequently hired Wasser, who challenged the California proceedings and argued that Goltes was attempting to choose a jurisdiction known for awarding generous child support payments.

In her August 3 request to withdraw the petition, Goltes said she wanted to resolve the dispute amicably through a mutual agreement that would serve the best interests of their children.

According to the New York Post, Goltes has reportedly since asked Dončić for $50 million to settle the custody dispute.
