LA Clippers forward Derrick Jones Jr. has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 right MCL sprain and will be re-evaluated in six weeks, sources told ESPN’s Shams Charania. The latest injury occurred in Saturday’s loss to the Boston Celtics.
Jones had played only four games since returning from another MCL sprain in the same knee, an issue that sidelined him for more than a month. This new setback comes shortly after that comeback.
Jones’ return had lined up with a Clippers turnaround, as Los Angeles carried a six-game winning streak into the Boston game. The Clippers did get Ivica Zubac back Saturday from an ankle sprain that kept him out for two weeks.
