The new Philadelphia 76ers star spoke to the media on Media Day, outlining his ambitions and emphasizing the work required to build something special.

LeBron James spoke to the media on Media Day with his new Philadelphia 76ers team. The player also joked with reporters before starting the interview, removing the name card from the table and asking the media members present if everyone knew who he was.

LeBron James’ words: “I didn’t leave my family to come here and get eliminated in the second round, that’s for sure. If we want to be a great team, we have to do things that may make us uncomfortable. So there’s still a lot of work to do, and I’m ready to do it. It’s going to take time. Everybody wants instant oatmeal, they want to have everything right away, but if you want to build something special, it takes time and you have to work every single day, even doing things you may not feel like doing.

First impressions of the 76ers? We’re all on the same page and speaking the same language. I’m super excited to be here and play in front of these fans. They know sports. If you’re not doing what you’re supposed to be doing, they’ll let you know, and I’m happy about that. There are accountable people here. I’m excited to go out there and play for something that’s bigger than me, bigger than all the players, to go out there and play for the city.”
