Al Harrington recalled a statement James reportedly made during his second NBA season
LeBron James was already aiming to surpass Michael Jordan during the early stages of his career. Speaking on To The Baha, Al Harrington recalled a conversation dating back to 2005.
According to Harrington, LeBron said of the No. 23 jersey: “When I’m done with 23, they won’t even remember that guy.”
James wore No. 23 during both Cleveland stints and with the Lakers, winning two championships. His other two titles came while wearing No. 6 for the Miami Heat.
