Leandro Bolmaro is preparing for a crucial window with Argentina, who will host Puerto Rico in Mar del Plata on August 28 before visiting Canada in Quebec City on September 1. “Playing in the World Cup and another Olympic Games would be spectacular,” the Olimpia Milano player said in an interview in Argentina.
Bolmaro revealed that his teammates, coach and staff convinced him to return: “They told me they needed me and wanted to reach the World Cup. Something clicked.” The confidence gained during the last season also influenced his decision: “I feel prepared and I’m ready to take on this responsibility.”
The Argentine guard also mentioned the possibility of facing stars such as Nikola Jokic and Victor Wembanyama: “Those are spectacular games that bring the best out of you.” Bolmaro considers the home opener against Puerto Rico crucial before the trip to Canada, which will make him one of the last international players to rejoin Peppe Poeta’s team.
