The 89-66 loss to Olympiacos has left Anadolu Efes facing new questions, starting with how to cope with Mike James’ absence. Speaking after the game, Pablo Laso stressed the need to accept the situation and find new solutions to move forward without the team’s star player.
“We have to understand that Mike James is not gonna come back. For the organization, for the team, for his teammates, for sure it’s an important loss. But we cannot just think, ‘OK, finished.’ That would be really stupid,” the coach said.
Laso’s comments highlight the importance of responding to a significant absence without allowing the resulting difficulties to take over. Efes will have to find a new balance and redistribute responsibilities within the squad, seeking to turn a challenging situation into an opportunity to demonstrate the team’s resilience.
