The Los Angeles Lakers held LeBron James out of Wednesday’s 107-91 loss to the San Antonio Spurs, listing multiple injuries.
He was downgraded to out shortly before tipoff, with Jarred Vanderbilt starting in his place.
James, 41, previously missed the first 14 games of the season because of sciatica and still hasn’t played both ends of a back-to-back since returning.
After a win in New Orleans (30 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists), LeBron said every back-to-back for the rest of the year is “TBD,” depending on how his body responds.
Coach JJ Redick described it as injury management, noting James’ foot is typically sore after games and decisions hinge on how he feels the next morning.
In additional news, Gabe Vincent returned from a nine-game absence due to a back issue, on a minutes restriction.
