The Los Angeles Lakers are hiring Eric Amsler as an assistant general manager, according to ESPN. Amsler joins Los Angeles after serving as the Miami Heat’s vice president of player personnel.
He spent more than 22 years with the Heat organization, initially joining as an intern before working his way through several roles in scouting, player personnel and the G League.
Amsler will become the second assistant GM under Lakers president Rob Pelinka, joining Rohan Ramadas in the front office. His extensive experience in scouting and personnel is expected to strengthen the Lakers’ basketball operations department as the franchise continues to build its front-office structure.
