Kristaps Porzingis turned a bloody forehead into a moment of glory. After taking an elbow from Goga Bitadze that opened a gash requiring five stitches, the Celtics big man walked off smiling and came back to seal the Game 2 win over Orlando, 109-100.
“I love these moments,” he said, recalling a similar incident earlier in April. “My legs work, everything works. So of course I came back.” Porzingis finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds, energizing the crowd and igniting chants of “K-P! K-P!” upon his return.
Coach Joe Mazzulla praised Porzingis’ toughness and poise, calling his presence vital for Boston’s identity. With Tatum out, Jaylen Brown led the way with 36 points, but it was Porzingis’ resilience that embodied the Celtics’ playoff grit.

Kristaps Porzingis on returning to the game after his gash:
“Honestly, how could I not come back out. Like, ‘Oh, I have five stitches, I can’t play anymore.’ No. My legs work, everything works, and of course I’m going to be out there.
