Knicks agree to 4-year, up to $120M contract extension with RJ Barrett

Barrett was the No. 3 overall pick by the Knicks in 2019 and is the first New York first round pick to be extended in 30 years

RJ Barrett and the New York Knicks have agreed to a four-year contract worth up to $120 million, reports Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN

The Knicks and Utah Jazz have held discussions on a Donovan Mitchell trade with some proposals including Barrett. While the Knicks could still trade Barrett, he is now subject to poison pill provisions.

Leon Rose set a Monday deadline with the Jazz to reach on a trade for Mitchell otherwise the Knicks were prepared to commit to the Barrett extension.
