Khimki general manager Pavel Astakhov said that the club’s budget in the Moscow region could change if Khimki will not participate in the Euroleague in the 2020/2021 season.
“The self-isolation mode is maintained until June 1, the sports facilities are closed, the team and I continue to maintain contact via video. We are now waiting for a solution from the Euroleague, we are discussing with the coach what could happen next, but so far there are more questions than answers: Whether the season will be played or not, whether we will stay in the Euroleague next year or we will join Eurocup, and therefore it is a completely different budget, but so far we have no answers.
It is difficult to imagine that the whole regular season can really be finished, keeping the playoffs and the “Final Four”. But if possible, Khimki will obviously participate. In any case, we are waiting for news from the Euroleague”.
