Kawhi Leonard asked reporters to avoid questions about the NBA’s investigation into him, the Los Angeles Clippers and potential salary cap circumvention. The forward said he wants to move on and focus on his new chapter with the Toronto Raptors.
“You want to hear about the investigation…, but in talking with the NBA and PA, I think the best decision is to move forward and focus on my time being a Toronto Raptor. … I just want to focus on basketball.”
Leonard also explained that he did not feel he was in a competitive enough situation with the Clippers last season and believes Toronto gives him a real opportunity to compete for a championship.
“We weren’t too competitive last year. I need pressure. I want to be in a winning situation.”
