Panagiotis Kalaitzakis is pleased with the increased playing time he has earned at Panathinaikos, highlighting the difference compared to previous seasons. Speaking to Greens’ Game Talk, the Greek guard discussed his role with the Athens club, explaining how the opportunities he has received this season allow him to showcase his abilities and contribute more consistently to the team’s success.
“If I had been given a chance in previous years, I could always have played the way I am playing this year. I simply didn’t get the opportunity. This year, things have changed. All players get their chances: the coach uses an 11-12-man rotation in every game, we all compete, and we get to play significant minutes rather than just one or two.
This year, we start every game with three Greek players in the starting five. That’s very important for a team like Panathinaikos, which has always had the best Greek players in previous years. What I do, like the other Greek players, is try to help the team win in my own role, with each of us doing our best”.
