New York Knicks player Julius Randle objected to Jarrett Allen’s contact late in the fourth quarter of Game 2 of the clubs’ first-round series Tuesday night in Cleveland.

New York’s All-Star big fell awkwardly out of bounds after Allen nailed Randle on a breakaway dunk with the Knicks down 23.

Randle was irate and confronted multiple Cavs players and coach J.B. Bickerstaff.

“I thought it was a little unnecessary… typically when you make those kind of plays, you run across their body, not through them,” Randle remarked. However, it’s unimportant. We’ll return to the Garden and visit them.”

Bickerstaff disagreed with Allen’s flagrant foul.

“They played hard. Running in passing lanes. “Why would one team play harder than the other?” he said. Play was clean. No flagrant foul. He blocked a shot. It’s easy.”

In the 107-90 defeat, Randle scored 22 points. His second game after recovering from a left ankle injury on March 29.

After the game, coach Tom Thibodeau said that Randle’s choice kept him in a game the Cavs were up large in with 2:22 left.

“I was actually going to sub Julius out, and he wanted to stay in for a couple more possessions just to find rhythm,” Thibodeau said.

Madison Square Garden hosts Game 3 on Friday.
