Josh Hart on Knicks’ NBA Cup hurdle: “We’ve got to get over that hump”

The New York Knicks are back in the NBA Cup quarterfinals, a round that’s knocked them out in each of the past two years.

For Josh Hart, this has to be the turning point: “Every year we fell short at this stage. So we got to get over that hump.”

New York opens knockout play Tuesday in Toronto; win there, and it’s on to Las Vegas on Saturday to face the Miami–Orlando winner.

Head coach Mike Brown is embracing the stakes: “Life is short. You want excitement. This is about as close as you can get to simulating a playoff run.”

For the Knicks, this NBA Cup is a test of maturity: turning a recurring stumbling block into a springboard.
Hart and the group know the only answer is simple: start winning on this stage, not just in the regular season.
