Jordi Bertomeu to remain as Euroleague CEO as shareholders clubs will manage board

Further informations emerges after the sudden decision to remove Bertomeu from Euroleague board.

The appointment of the 11 licensed teams as directors of the ECA board responds to the demand of the clubs to be more involved in the business, as it was announced after the Executive Board meeting on April 26, according to EuroLeague sources.

This does not change the decision making process, which has always sit at the clubs and will continue to be the same. Clubs are the owners of the EuroLeague and as it always happened, they decide how they manage their collective property, source adds.

Whether Jordi Bertomeu is a director of the board or not is a formality that does not change the way the company is managed. He continues to be the CEO of the company with the exact same responsibilities as before.
