Jordi Bertomeu confirms that Virtus Bologna's goal is to play in EuroLeague

"We want a second team in Italy. It would be very good for EuroLeague."

CEO Jordi Bertomeu confirmed that Virtus Bologna’s goal is to play in EuroLeague. And Euroleague Basketball would love to add a second team in Italy.

“Virtus Bologna, since it was acquired by the owner of coffee brand Segafredo, came and made us clear that they want to play in EuroLeague. They have a plan to build a 15.000 seat arena in Bologna. We want a second team in Italy. It would be very good for EuroLeague. It is an important country for us. Virtus Bologna is back and they have done with force”.
