Leuer averaged 6.4 PPG and 3.8 RPG for his career
Free agent forward Jon Leuer announced his retirement at the age of 31.
“The past 3 years I’ve dealt with a number of injuries, including 2 that kept me out this whole season,” Leuer says. “It’s taken me a while to come to grips with this, but I’m truly at peace with my decision to officially retire.”
Leuer, a second-round pick in 2011, played 377 games with Milwaukee, Cleveland, Memphis, Phoenix and Detroit. He also appeared in 13 playoff games with the Grizzlies and Pistons.
Charlotte will be without two players during the preseason after both suffered hamstring injuries during offseason on-court activity.
Unless his camp changes its position soon, the Detroit center could play next season on the qualifying offer before becoming an unrestricted free agent in 2027.
Memphis has waived the veteran guard as the franchise looks to trim its roster, giving Russell an opportunity to find a new team before the start of the season.
